Problem
Problem
Ensuring safety, accountability, and reliability between strangers is a significant challenge in any peer-to-peer service, especially when it involves pet care. Without a strong foundation of trust, potential users are hesitant to engage, leading to a 25% lower adoption rate compared to industry benchmarks. The lack of transparency around dog walkers and their qualifications further exacerbates the issue, making it difficult for pet owners to feel confident in using the service.

The structure and length of my process depend on at which point I join the team, the resources available, and the deadlines. For this project, I focused only on the first four phases of my product design process.

Market Research
Market Research
To understand the pain points and needs of our target users, we identified two key personas: busy pet owners and independent dog walkers. These users were most concerned with safety, reliability, and convenience. We also analyzed top competitors like Rover, Wag!, and Pawshake, which had successfully increased user engagement by offering transparent processes, user reviews, and verified profiles. This informed our approach to focus heavily on accountability and trust-building features.
